It's pretty sad that in my last post, I made a resolution to blog more. Yet, here I am, over a month later, finally writing another post. I suppose I'd have to say i just got busy. Basketball season started, and classes were getting more and more hectic, so the blog was pushed to the wayside. Another excuse is that my life itself has been much more positive and exciting, so venting hasn't been my priority.... But it's Christmas vacation, and I'm back.
I got 5 new books for Christmas, and a 25$ gift card for Barnes and Noble.
The Five Books are:
Catch-22 - Joseph Heller
I've wanted to read this for a long time. It's one of those books that, "Change the way you see the world"....
Say It Like Obama - Shel Leanne
The title is pretty much self explanatory, it tells how to use oration to motivate and inspire.
The Tales of Beedle the Bard - J. K. Rowling
Do I really need to explain this one? I'm a Potter fan through and through. It's pretty much manditory that I read this.
Blindness - Jose Saramago
This was made into a movie recently.. but I didn't see much about it after it came out. A city is hit with an epidemic of "White Blindness" and one woman is spared. Jose Saramago won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1998.
It's Kind of a Funny Story - Ned Vizzini
I don't know a lot about this one. It caught my eye in Barnes and Noble, so I snapped a picture of the cover, I do this to remember books.
A few more notable gifts include:
The Dark Knight DVD
A sweet Converse Duffle Bag
Obama Calendar
GIFT CARDS!
and one of my personal Favorites.....
A T-Shirt that Says BEEFHARBOR!
So with some pretty cool gifts, great food, family around, and the occasional text that made me smile, I'd say this was a pretty great Christmas!
